62-year-old female, postmenopausal for15 years without bleeding, then multiple bleeding episodes and curettage with diagnosis of a sinple hyperplasia of endometrium located in the uterine body
- Solidly tumour tissue consisting of middle sized cells of the stroma type with poorly defined cell borders
- The nuclei appear round, oval or square and are mostly light in colour, often with indentation. Occasional mitoses can be seen.
- The tumour produces oestrogen, causing recurrent postmenopausal bleeding and presents as a simple hyperplasia of uterine body endometrium.
