Highly malignant NHL, which takes an aggressive course if left untreated. Often curable thanks to modern chemotherapy.
20-year-old female with sudden-onset, painless swelling of a cervical lymph node. No constitutional symptoms. Good general health.
- Enlarged lymph node with blastic cell populations
- Some cells show a basophilic cytoplasm and large vesicular nuclei with large, central nucleoli (immunoblasts) or a double nucleolus at the cell membrane (centroblasts).
- Plenty of mitoses can be seen.
