60-year-old female with anaemia, severe leucocytosis and leuco-erythroblastic blood film as well as splenomegaly.

- New bone formation in the periost
- The bone marrow is moderately hypercellular and is penetrated by a fine net of fibres. The bone marrow sinusoids are enlarged.
- In fibrous areas, numerous dysplastic megakaryocytes and micromegakaryocytes can be seen.
-Clustered increase of erythropoiesis
- Myelopoiesis with disturbed maturation

Fibrosis/sclerosis is a reactive process and can be caused bymyeloproliferative syndrome or a neoplasm.
