53-year-old female. Chronic loss of appetite with vomiting, joint pain, nephrolithiasis. Blood biochemistry revealed an increased calcium level, low phosphate. Increased calcium and phosphate levels in urine.
- Increased osteoclastic bone resorption; possibly clustered osteoclasts
- Bone marrow fibrosis
- Fibrocellular areas with collagenisation and new bone formation
Clinically diagnostic are increased PTH levels (primary hyperparathyroidism) and histological findings in pelvic bone biopsy.
