55-year-old female, few months' history of weight loss, loss of
appetite; few months' history of increasing dyspnoea with a tremendous
increase during the previous few days. Death following decompensated
right heart failure. Autopsy showed carcinoma of the stomach with
- Numerous arteries of varying size containing clusters of tumour
- The tumour is epithelial in structure and consists of medium-sized
- Other vessels show thrombi in varying stages of organisation.
There is thrombus formation on both sides of the tumour emboli.
Depending on the level of the cut surface some vessels show thrombi
without tumour cells.
