The operative specimen is oval-shaped, maximal diameter 3 cm, smooth surface, cut surface glassy, laced with blood

- Partly basophilic, poorly structured substance, penetrated by vessels and vessel proliferation, small star-shaped cell complexes, macrophages (partly iron loaded) and erythrocytes
- Smooth surface, incomplete endothelium
