62-year-old male with chronic alcohol abuse, recurrent attacks of upper abdominal pain with mild fever and elevation of plasma amylase:460U/I (N:25-125).Ultrasound and CT show cysts and calcification in the area of the pancreas. Partial resection of the pancreas due to severe pain attacks.

- Practically full destruction of the acini
- Fibrosis of the connective tissue
- Ducts dilated, epithelium partially destroyed
- Viscous secretion in lumen, partially calcified
- Endocrine islands relatively well preserved
- Scarce inflammatory infiltrates
