a-synuclein An immunohistochemical staining to a-synuclein. Aggregated a-synuclein proteins form brain lesions that are hallmarks of some neurodegenerative diseases (so-called synucleinopathies, such as Parkinson's disease (PD) or dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB))
PrP An immunohistochemical staining to detect human prion protein (PrP). The antibody recognizes both the cellular (PrPC) and the pathological (PrPSc) form of PrP
A-b-amyloid An immunohistochemical staining detecting pathological Ab amyloid. Accumulates as extracellular Ab plaques (either as "soft" or "core" plaques), mainly in cortical areas of patients with Alzheimer's disease. In addition, Ab may accumulate within cerebral blood vessels resulting in a disease called cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA).
MAP2C An immunohistochemical staining using the antibody clone MAP2C detecting the microtubule-associated protein-2 (MAP-2). MAP-2 is concentrated in neuronal somata and dendrites.
